FLIGHT TRAINING

Celestial Kinetics Flight Academy can help your pursue your aviation goals, whether going to the airlines or flying just for fun. Our fleet of 6 IFR/VFR aircraft will provide flexibility in scheduling and a variety of avionics to experience. Check out our training opportunities below. 

DISCOVERY FLIGHT

Discovery flights are your first introduction to flight training, you'll be paired with a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) for a 30 minute ride to experience flight! You will even take control of the airplane while under instructor supervision. Discovery flights are great introductions to flight training or great gifts for aspiring future aviators.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

PRIVATE PILOT

A Private Pilot License (PPL) will give you the freedom to fly for fun or provide the foundation for a career in aviation!

Training Requirements: 

- Be at least 17 years old

- Pass a aeronautical knowledge written and practical test

- Minimum of 40 hours of flight time

- Minimum 20 hour of flight instruction 

- Minimum 10 hours of solo flight time 

INSTRUMENT RATING

A Instrument Pilot rating will allow for flight in instrument conditions or in the clouds. This rating allows improves pilot skill and percision.

Training Requirements (61.65):

- Must hold a private pilot certificate

- Pass an aeronautical knowledge written and practical test

- Must have 50 hours of cross-country flight time 

- 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time

COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE

A Commercial Pilot Certificate allows you to fly for compensation or hire. This certification is required to fly for most airlines and commercial aviation companies. The training involved in obtaining a Commercial Pilot Certificate is comprehensive and covers topics such as advanced aircraft systems, navigation, instrument procedures, and emergency procedures.

Training Requirements (61.129):

- Be at least 18 years old

- Pass a aeronautical knowledge written and practical test

- Minimum of 250 flight hours

Minimum of 50 hours Cross-County time

- 20 hours of flight training

- 10 hours in complex or TAA airplane

FLIGHT REVIEWS/IPC

Whether in your aircraft or one of ours we will help you accomplish your flight review or IPC required or get you back current and proficient with flying. 

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Our CFI or CFII flight training is tailored to meet the individual needs of our students. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become a certified flight instructor.

TAILWHEEL TRAINING

Earn your tailwheel endorsement in our classic Piper Super Cruiser airplane. You'll learn about the differences of flying a tailwheel airplane and received dual flight training towards your tailwheel endorsement. 

TAA TRAINING

Train for professional flying in our Garmin equipped TAA (technically advanced airplane), featuring dual GI275s, GFC-500 autopilot, and GNX375 GPS. 

CUSTOM TRAINING

We'll work with you to suit your flight training needs. Examples include rusty pilot training, certificate completion, IFR refreshers, time building opportunities and more!

CAN I TRAIN AT MY OWN PACE?

Yes! Whether you're wanting to fly for recreation or make a career our team will work with you to meet your goals in your timeline.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EARN A PRIVATE PILOT'S LICENSE (PPL)?

The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours for a private pilot certificate. However, the average student typically takes between 50 to 60 hours to complete their training, depending on their progress, the frequency of lessons, and individual learning pace.

IS FLIGHT TRAINING AVAILABLE IN THE WINTER IN WISCONSIN?

Learning to operate in a variety of weather conditions will create a well-rounded pilot. Winter flying will offer a multitude of scenarios in making safe go and no-go considerations in addition to dealing with cold weather and snow.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF PART 61 TRAINING?

Part 61 training offers flexibility in curriculum for every type of learner. At Celestial Kinetics we put strong emphasis on stick and rudder skills and training in real world scenarios all at your pace.

CAN I RENT AIRCRAFT FROM THE FLIGHT SCHOOL?

Yes! Our graduated students can rent the school's airplanes to take friends and family flying. If your a pilot who did not train with us, you can still get a check-out to rent our airplanes.

HOW CAN I GET STARTED AT YOUR FLIGHT SCHOOL?

To get started, simply contact us to schedule an introductory flight.

We'll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and help you begin the process. If you're ready to enroll, we'll schedule your first lesson and get you on the path to becoming a licensed pilot!

I HAVE MY PRIVATE LICENSE, CAN YOU DO INSTRUMENT TRAINING?

Yes! We have taken students who are already private pilots and trained for their instrument certificate. Enjoy our fully equipped Garmin IFR 172, 150, and 177 for training in advanced avionics in real world conditions.

HOW MANY HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME WILL I NEED TO COMPLETE TO BECOME A COMMERCIAL PILOT?

To obtain a commercial pilot certificate, the FAA requires a minimum of 250 flight hours. These hours include solo flight time, cross-country flights, night flights, and other specific maneuvers.

CAN I START FLIGHT TRAINING WITH NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE?

Absolutely! Many of our students start with no aviation back-ground. Our flight instructors will guide you through the process, starting with basic flying skills and building your knowledge and experience step by step. Whether you're looking to fly for personal enjoyment or as a career, we can help you achieve your goals.

CAN I TRAIN PART-TIME, OR DO I NEED TO TRAIN FULL-TIME?

We offer flexible training schedules to accommodate students who are training part-time or full-time. Whether you're a student, a working professional, or have other commitments, you can set up lessons on a schedule that works for you. Frequent, consistent training is often recommended, but we work with you to build a plan that fits your needs.
